Custom-made metal and porcelain ceiling light
Light sculpture for a restaurant
Eze, French Riviera, France - Caroline Tissier
In Èze, in the heart of the French Riviera, the two-Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurant La Chèvre d'Or unveils a new interior identity designed by interior architect Caroline Tissier, on the occasion of the arrival of chef Tom Meyer.
Suspended overlooking the Mediterranean, the space draws direct inspiration from its surroundings. Rock, natural light, olive trees, and organic lines compose a setting that is both mineral and enveloping. The plaster walls and ceilings extend in gentle curves, softening angles and creating a fluid continuity between architecture, landscape, and light.
To complement this world, Art et Floritude created two custom-designed sculptural light installations, created by Caroline Tissier. The compositions unfold across the ceiling and descend along the columns framing the windows, like a natural extension of the interior architecture.
Entirely handcrafted in our workshop in France, these sculptures combine backlit matte white metal, delicate porcelain elements, and touches of gold leaf. The gilding, done in collaboration with Stéphanie Cariou, lends the pieces a precious, sun-drenched light, echoing the reflections of the Mediterranean.
Shapes, proportions, materials, finishes, and light intensity were studied in minute detail to create pieces perfectly integrated into the restaurant's curved volumes. Indirect light highlights the composition's contours and gradually reveals the different materials, without disrupting the space's softness.
In the restaurant's private lounge, the Double Galet wall lights in an Alluvion finish extend this mineral and organic approach. This finish, developed in collaboration with Solène Eloy, features a texture that evokes the movement of water, rock, and olive tree foliage.
Through this project, Art et Floritude puts its expertise at the service of exceptional architecture, combining luminous sculpture, porcelain, metal, gold leaf and French artisanal manufacturing.
A bespoke creation designed to interact with the location, the light and the iconic landscape of Èze.
